This week we began our new half term topic of Ancient Greece. After learning about the culture of Ancient Greece, we wrote poetry concerning Mount Olympus and its various gods, particularly focusing on Zeus and Hades.
Mount Olympus, unique home to many privileged Gods
controlling all the glorious galaxy.
The predominant, immense mountain stands as still as stone in
Greece representing power, mirth.
Freshly scented clouds gracefully dance amidst lofty prisms,
Enthroned smugly in a fluttering cape of white
crystal.
Home of the muscular warrior Zeus, sagacious ruler of the
aqua marine blue skies,
Retaining endless power from the electrocuting lightning
bolt.
Vigorous, dominant and specially carved,
Virtuously banishing his eyes from his brother’s doom.

I am impressed by the powerful adjectives and verbs that you have chosen to use in your poem. I also like your use of personification. Well done.
ReplyDeleteSome great words Mubarak!I In 6F, we particularly liked the adjectives; especially some of the alliterative ones such as: glorious galaxy. As a next step we thought about maybe experimenting with varied sentence length, sophisticated punctuation for effect and making sure all wow words are precise. We were very impressed though!
